South Of Grand //Split Level

We were so lucky to work on this project located in South of Grand neighborhood in Des Moines. This split level home had amazing original beams and charm from the 70’s that we wanted to bring back to these spaces. The colorful terrazzo tile in the bathroom set the tone for the color palette and we leaned into color with pink walls, bold green shower tile and artwork. This level was originally two bedrooms but we transformed it to be one large, loft style primary suite. The custom closet has beautiful cabinetry that has a furniture feel to warm up the open space to the bedroom. The arched shower is one of our favorite details with the contrasting tile and the pony walls with curved ends that divid the bathroom from the closet area. This was such a great project with a client that was open to fun, colorful and unique selections.

Large windows replaced the old and small original windows to bring in more natural light and fit the proportions of the space
The acrylic nightstands were a fun find to add character to the space without taking away from the curved detail of the bed
